Moffat on His Choice

To many fans, especially those who weren't spoiled by the leaks, Moffat casting Peter Capaldi as the 12th Doctor came as a surprise. Well, I do not know about you and your friends but if someone would have made a poll among my circle of friends, their guess would have been a less experienced actor.

However, it's certainly not only them, but all Whovians who are keen on the story behind Moffat's choice, and fortunately 'DigitalSpy' makes sure we get served.

Maybe the most burning question coming to our mind is if Moffat's big plan was to go for an older actor as the Doctor all along. His answer:
I  think it's good that we've got a different age [...] after Matt showed us all how to be a 20s Doctor. I don't know what you would do after that, because he was so perfect. [...] So it makes life easier, I suppose, that Peter is different. But that wasn't the reason.
And, the most important question of all of them; how is the 12th Doctor going to be like? Moffat does not know yet.

And what will he wear?
Clothes. Anything else would be just really shocking!

Good-Bye Our Sarah Jane...

I wish I wasn't writing this post... but sadly Elisabeth Sladen passed away. I just read the news and I never saw this coming. And the general public does not seem to have either.

She was one of those people who will always be associated with Doctor Who, maybe stronger than anyone else ever will be. Without her the Whoniverse will never be the same again, she will have always a part in our hearts. She was deeply loved and will be deeply missed. At least she did what she loved and was happy doing it.
Well, I suppose everybody knows that everybody dies, but we just can't accept it. And never will. Stories like this never fail to cath us off-guard.

If you happen to doubt the whole story here is an official article by a proper newspaper, and with time going by there wil be certainly more.

EDIT: DoctorWhoTV.co.uk's article has got a few statements most notably from Russel T Davies and Steven Moffat. Just in case you're interested... EDIT: DigitalsSpy has collected a number of other actors' and producers' reactions Elisabeth Sladen has worked with.
And this is Matt Smith paying his tribute, also published by DigitalsSpy.
EDIT: And to make the round complete, this is David Tennant expressing his sadness at the loss of Elisabeth Sladen.

This changes everything...

Again.

Digital Spy tries to shorten the time to this year's Christmas special by giving us something we could consider as some sort of remarkable news.

This article is mostly about season 6, and to be honest, it's a quite mouth-watering one despite a certain lack of ... let's call it information.

First, it ensures us that, as we already might know, Moffat isn't only madly in love with 'game-changing cliffhangers', but if he weren't already married he might consider getting engaged to one of them. Furthermore, we are told (twice!) that the next season 'will change everything', whatever that is supposed to mean.

At least the last paragraph is finally giving some spoilers away... Well, I hope in spite of Rory stumbling 'to the brink of a tragic mistake' this won't make him the most often killed character of this show. Hold on, that's the Doctor. Although, Rory has already died twice this season, so he is undeniably catching up.
